Our Response: We are going to open up the present counter and create a second counter. We will also add extra seating for patients whilst they are waiting.

Exceptional care from the whole team - receptionist, doctor and nurse. Compassionate doctor, professional manner, privacy and dignity respected from every member of the team. Great follow up care, no problem too big.

You said:

I was seen by Dr Murray within approximately 90 minutes of speaking to the receptionist. You cannot ask for better service than that. As always, I received the reassurance and help that I needed. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful, friendly and caring practice.

Was able to get an appointment when I wanted and received excellent, professional care from both the Doctor and receptionist. Surgical wounds got infected and rash but followed up by the surgery (antibiotics and swab taken) and this prevented re-admission to Musgrove Park Hospital and potential risk of sepsis.

Fantastic first class service from both the attentive sympathetic GP. The practice is spotless including the toilet. Reception staff delightfully helpful with lots of smiles! So glad to have you as my new GP surgery. Thankyou Prompt appointment, diagnosis and medicine prescribed. Reassured me and me feel better for getting professional advice. Always answer the phone. Always call me back. Always give me an appointment. Looked after me extremely well when I was very poorly. OUTSTANDING.

The check in screen does not work as usual! Receptionist on the phone! I wouldn’t want to be heard in front of the whole waiting room anyway

We have had our check in screen repaired and can only apologise for the time it was out of order. This was just over a week and repair times are out of our control. We constantly look to improve the Reception areas to maintain confidentiality, but we are only able to work within the limited space we have. Patients are able to have appointments at any of our three premises and it is possible an alternative site may be better suited to individual needs.

Response re our overall care

Overall - should be awarded an Oscar! All staff are professional, friendly and have my best interests at the forefront. The Blackdown practice is a calm, well organised environment - it makes me feel secure when most needed. Improvement.

Could provision for patients waiting for the Pharmacy be improved? i.e Covered canopy/ seating, it can be a long wait sometimes!

We are very aware that provision for patients waiting for Dispensary is in need of improvement and we are currently looking at ways we can adapt the building to improve this and hope to make changes in the not to distant future.

How have you found our staff?

Very helpful and friendly staff Overall care has been excellent, during my husband's end of life care. Moved here a year ago and have been very helpful, supportive and kind.

​For March we had 26 responses of which 19 were very good and 2 were good. (80.7%) We have had significant staff shortages in the month which have had a material effect on our service levels and unfortunately we had to reduce our opening houts at both Churchinford and Dunkeswell which has had an impact on our results.

I thought the service was very good but the music in the waiting room was awful

We are sorry you did not like the music played, we are trying different radio stations out and whilst it is difficult to please everyone we are trying to find a station that is a good compromise.

Why can't I email your staff

We will be adding a contact form to our website within the next few weeks which will enable queries to be sent into the practice

Why can we not have a shelter outside the Dispensary.

We are looking to improve Dispensary queues and would love to provide a shelter, unfortunately the space available makes this tricky. we are looking at an alternative to reduce queues and hope to be able to announce something soon.
